AODA POLICY.

1. Introduction

At RebuildTO, we are committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We are dedicated to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and equal opportunity, and we are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner.

2. Our Commitment

In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), RebuildTO is dedicated to:

  • Ensuring we comply with all current and future legislation regarding accessibility.

  • Creating an environment that is inclusive of all persons and treats all members of the community with respect.

3. Providing Services to People with Disabilities

RebuildTO is committed to excellence in serving all residents or members including people with disabilities and we will carry out our functions and responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Communication: We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability.

  • Assistive Devices: Persons with disabilities may use their own assistive devices as required when accessing events or services provided by RebuildTO.

4. Use of Service Animals and Support Persons

We welcome people with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal on the parts of our premises that are open to the public and other third parties. We also welcome persons with disabilities who are accompanied by a support person.

5. Notice of Temporary Disruption

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for members with disabilities, RebuildTO will notify members promptly.

6. Training

RebuildTO will provide training to volunteers, and others who deal with the public or other third parties on their behalf.

7. Feedback Process

Residents or members who wish to provide feedback on the way RebuildTO provides events services to people with disabilities can email us at Contact@rebuildto.ca.

8. Modifications to This or Other Policies

Any policy of RebuildTO that does not respect and promote the dignity and independence of people with disabilities will be modified or removed.

9. Questions About This Policy

This policy exists to achieve service excellence to residents or members with disabilities. If anyone has a question about the policy, or if the purpose of a policy is not understood, an explanation should be provided by, or referred to the RebuildTO team at connect@rebuildto.com.
